Chase Contemporary is very proud to announce an upcoming solo exhibition for renowned Danish artist Ole Aakjaer. The exhibition marks the culmination of Aakjaer’s 6-month residency in New York City. The exhibition will be on view April 27th through June 1st, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 27th, from 6-8pm.

Chase Contemporary gallery is pleased to present its first solo show with abstract painter and seafarer Reid Stowe. Stowe, a native of coastal North Carolina, is both a navigator, polar explorer, yogi, father, and creator of works of art that encapsulate the 71 year journey of his fascinating life. The paintings, with their spiritual and primitive influences, are heavily textured and organic in appearance. The exhibition, featuring mostly medium and large scale works, marks Stowe’s first solo New York exhibition and will open on March 23rd from 6-8pm at 413 West Broadway.

The immersive exhibition will feature 30 new canvas works of various sizes in Ortiz’s vibrant and playful geometric style, evoking the atmosphere of early 1980s New York. Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce a solo show of watercolor paintings by globally renowned Danish artist Ole Aakjær at its East Hampton, New York, location. Miss Multitude, featuring a selection of twelve large-scale, complex figurative paintings, will be on view from July 30 through August 13, 2022, at Chase Contemporary’s East Hampton gallery. Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce a solo exhibition spanning four decades of far-reaching works by multi-disciplinary artist and pioneering graffiti writer RISK. RISK: Electric Color will showcase monumental metal sculptures, large-scale works on canvas and paper, and neon electric fine art, among an array of vintage and new work that promotes sustainability through the use of recycled and found materials. The exhibition will feature three days of live painting events open to the public, as well as artifacts from the legendary Risk Rock Studios Compound where he collaborates with an array of rockstars, actors, and other renowned visual artists.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce a retrospective exhibition for Canadian artist Richard Hambleton featuring works created between 1976 and 2017. Richard Hambleton: Beyond the Shadowman will showcase Hambleton’s contribution to the history of contemporary public and conceptual art. Through a presentation of the artist’s shadow paintings, seascapes, and a series of never-before-seen photographs taken by the artist between 1976 and 1979, the exhibition will provide a unique insight into the artist’s creative, conceptual life.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce its first solo show of paintings by globally renowned artist Sky Kim. Kim’s works explore themes ranging from sacred geometry to reincarnation. Incorporating circles and sacred spirals in her work, Sky draws on physics as an inspiration, “as a means of trying to figure out what we are made of and who we are. I believe in oneness.” Microscopic Obsession will feature a selection of large and small-scale works on paper, and will be on view from April 7 through May 1 at Chase Contemporary’s SoHo gallery. Chase Contemporary is delighted to announce the grand opening of its new 5000 square foot Manhattan gallery space in SoHo with a solo show of large-scale watercolor and mixed media linoleum works by Danish artist Ole Aakjær. Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce its first exhibition with Brooklyn-based artist Logan Sylve. The show presents a selection of small-scale figurative drawings and large paintings on canvas. Evoking the mood of comic and underground culture, Sylve’s playful compositions address what it means to be human. Marking the artist’s first solo show in New York, Looking Forward To will be on view from September 23rd through October 10th at 231 10th Ave.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by street art legends Banksy, Blek Le Rat, and Richard Hambleton. On view will be Banksy’s Haight Street Rat, 2010, which was the subject of the documentary “Saving Banksy,” and will be the first time that the Haight Street Rat will be on exhibit in New York. This presentation aims to place one of the world’s most famous contemporary street artists- Banksy- alongside two pioneers of an earlier generation.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce the Manhattan leg of its first solo exhibition with Atlanta-based painter Imani Bilal. Behind the Veil: Musings of Muraqaba is a collection of new abstract works by Imani Bilál centered around concepts of mindfulness and meditation. The paintings to be exhibited exude explosive, enigmatic energy that traverse and celebrate the many phases of meditation. The show will open in the gallery’s Chelsea location on Friday, September 10th.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce its first solo exhibition in its new East Hampton location, which will open over July 4th weekend. A selection of medium and large-scale canvas works by acclaimed Expressionist urban painter Richard Hambleton will be on display at 66 Newtown Lane in East Hampton, from July 1 through July 18, 2021. This installation of “Shadowmen” at Chase Contemporary will mark the first time a Hambleton show of this size has been presented on the East End. An opening reception will be held on July 1st from 4-7pm at 66 Newtown Lane.

We are currently exhibiting a selection of important Retna paintings at our New York location. Several monumental paintings will be on view, which have not been exhibited since Retna's "Hallelujah World Tour" exhibition in 2011. These extraordinary works mark one of the most important periods in Retna's career. The same year that Retna was creating some of his most imposing paintings for the "Hallelujah World Tour," he was participating in the Art in the Streets exhibition at MOCA (the first major U.S. museum survey of graffiti and street art which traced its development from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today), Street Cred at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, and painting the tail of a business jet in Geneva for VistaJet.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce a new exhibition surveying the visual identity of the Rock & Roll music genre, with a particular focus on the English band The Rolling Stones. Showcasing vintage posters, art, and memorabilia spanning the 1960s through the 2000s, this exhibit is intended to celebrate the history of Rock & Roll while exploring the evolution of design and art as it relates to music. The installation is on view at 231 10th Ave. from November 27th, 2020 through January 10, 2021.

On view through the end of the year is a selection of Richard Hambleton paintings from the gallery's extensive collection. Chase Contemporary has established itself as one of the leading international dealers of Richard Hambleton works. This presentation includes masterpieces from the artist's Horse & Rodeo series, Jumping Shadowmen, Standing Shadowmen, and Landscapes, spanning the 1980s through the 2000s. The exhibition is on view at the gallery's 521 W. 23rd St. location and will remain up through the end of 2020.

Chase Contemporary is pleased to announce Between Colors and a Hard Place, an exhibition of new paintings by Chinese artist Liu Shuishi. This presentation, featuring gestural and richly textured oil paintings, examines the artist’s own philosophies about identity and the tension between existence and selfhood.
